Household Responsibilities
Here’s how we can all contribute to keeping our home running smoothly, especially before transitions to your other homes. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Personal Spaces: Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Maintaining your personal areas is important for everyone's comfort.
Before You Go / Regular Checklist:
-
Trash: Empty all bedroom and bathroom trash cans. Take the bags downstairs to the main trashcan.
-
Dishes from Rooms: Bring any dishes (cups, plates, bowls) from your room to the kitchen. Rinse them and place them in the left side of the sink.
-
Mirrors: Wipe down mirrors in your bedroom and bathroom with Windex.
-
Linens & Towels (Optional Wash):
- If you want bed linens (sheets, pillowcases) washed, please strip them from your bed and leave them in a pile in your room.
- Add any used towels from your bathroom to this pile.
- They will be washed and returned to your room, folded. You can make your beds upon your return.
Bathroom Upkeep:
- Keep the bathroom areas you primarily use neat and tidy.
- If you're running low on essential toiletries, please write it on the dry-erase board on the refrigerator.
The "Put It All The Way Away" Principle
This is key to keeping our shared spaces functional and tidy.
- If you use something or prepare food, ensure all related items (jars, boxes, supplies, trash) are put completely away when you're finished.
- Used dishes should be rinsed and placed in the left side of the sink.
- Aim to "Leave it better than you found it."
Shared Household Responsibilities
These are tasks we all share to keep the house in order.
Kitchen & Dishes:
- I will generally load and start the dishwasher.
- Dishwasher Duty: If you notice the dishwasher sign indicates "Clean", please take a few minutes to unload it. Your help here is appreciated.
Dog Care:
- Water: Ensure the dogs always have fresh water.
- Arrival Protocol: If you're the first one home, please let all dogs out. Alternatively, open the back door for Diamond.
- Yard Maintenance (Dog Waste):
- The yard needs to be cleared of dog waste at least once or twice a week.
- Use a trash bag and the scooper.
- Dispose of the collected waste immediately in the grey trash bin.
Maintaining Common Areas:
- Please be mindful of keeping common areas (living room, kitchen, hallways, etc.) tidy.
- If you see something out of place:
- Put it away if you know its proper place.
- Alternatively, place it inside the room of the person it likely belongs to.
- This helps keep our main living spaces pleasant for everyone. Thanks for your contribution.
